STONEHAM PUBLIC LIBRARY NOVEMBER EXHIBIT
The Stoneham Public Library is pleased to host a display called “Glimpses of The Holy Qur’an: From Antiquity, To the Modern World, And the Digital Age” during the month of November. This exhibition is sponsored by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community located in Sharon, Massachusetts. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is delighted to present an educational display to foster reading, information and knowledge. The group especially hopes to reach the non-Muslim community who are not acquainted with The Holy Qur’an. In their own words they state,“What better place to do so than the library which has been called the “public university”.The Holy Qur’an is the sacred scripture of the Muslims. This display features unique samples of the Holy Qur’an, some with Near Eastern style bookbinding. There will be Qur’anic calligraphy in wood. Samples of foreign language translations open the book to the global community. The print media has been supplemented with a sample of the CD version. Finally, internet-based links enable access to Digital Age media, particularly “Apps” for mobile devices.
The display is located in the library’s main room glass cases. A trip to the Stoneham Public
Library should include a visit to view this unique display of the Holy Qur’an.
