Art Displays

Artist of the Month


The December Exhibit at the Stoneham Library has three artists; Ruth Camber, Florence Como, Jeannette Corbett, all close friends, displaying their artworks for all to enjoy during the Holiday Season.
Ruth Camber, a nurse from Wilmington, paints landscapes in oils and watercolor. She studied Botanical Art at Wellesley , Friends of Horticulture , for many years. Her favorite subject is landscape , and is an avid conservationist.
She exhibits on the North Shore and has won many awards.
Florence Como,a former teacher from Lincoln, is a traditional representational painter. She has studied with well known artists from the North Shore. Florence has also studied in Umbria , at the La Romita School of Art , painting en plein air at the surrounding, medieval hill towns. She paints in oils, watercolor and acrylics, depending on the subject matter.Florence also belongs to many art associations, including the Rhode Island Watercolor Society, and won many awards.
Jeannette Corbett, a former teacher from Reading, has enjoying sketching from an early age. Since retirement, , she has studied with artists from the North Shore and beyond. Her favorite subjects include oil landscapes ,rich in colors of wildflowers, thoroughbred horse racing in watercolor, and Tonalist painting using palette knife and paper toweling . Jeannette has won many awards , including several Best of Show the past few weeks.
