Announcement from American Library Association on COVID-19
| As you know, Congress is moving extremely quickly on economic relief and recovery packages in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact across many industries. Now is the time to contact your elected officials to let them know what libraries are facing. ALA is urging Congress to include at least $2 billion for libraries in COVID-19 economic relief legislation, and we need you to let them know how critical this funding is to libraries of all types across the country. Email Congress Now |
The American Library Association is working with Congress to advocate for libraries and the stimulus package, but we need you to add your voice and underscore the urgency of the need. Can we count on you to send an email today? Use our template or visit: ala.org/advocacy/contact-congress Libraries are – and have always been – community anchors, addressing challenges in times of peace and in times of crisis. We are poised to contribute powerfully to recovery, but we expect hardships in the months ahead and a surge in demand for our services. Please contact Congress today and underscore the need for libraries to be included in any economic stimulus relief now.
