Opposing Viewpoints in Context
The Stoneham Public Library offers its patrons a number of reference databases to assist them in their research needs, including online biographies, magazines, and newspapers. Funding for these databases is provided by the North of Boston Library Exchange (NOBLE) and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) to member libraries. All of these databases can be accessed through computers at the Stoneham Public Library. Many of these databases are also accessible from home. To connect from a computer outside the library, you will need a Stoneham Public Library card.
Ancestry
Ancestry Library Edition is a genealogy research tool that provides library patrons instant access to a wide range of resources for genealogical and historical research. Ancestry Library Edition includes records from the U. S. Census; military records; court, land and probate records; vital and church records; directories; petitions for naturalization; passenger lists and more! This database must be accessed at the library. (Available from home through Dec 2021).
ASLdeafined
ASLdeafined is a website with American Sign Language (ASL) video lessons for everyone. Whether you love someone who is deaf, are deaf yourself, or just want to learn ASL language, this program is for you. We’ve tailored our lesson plans to fit your specific needs. The content is for anyone who wishes to learn ASL, regardless of age. It has been designed to instruct Deaf students, parents of Deaf children, and the community-at-large.
Internet Archive of Stoneham Annual Reports
The Stoneham Annual Report is a yearly document that summarizes the activities and achievements of the town and its departments over the previous fiscal year. It includes:
