This photography presentation offers images from a unique point of view – the “Sky View.” We are accustomed to viewing buildings, historic sites and colorful venues by looking at them straight ahead. What if you could see those same familiar sites from above, from a Sky View? The presentation includes aerial photographs of historic buildings, houses of worship, parks, light houses, and other colorful sites. The presentation is compelling because most have never seen views like this before, from an aerial photographer’s viewpoint. The program demystifies the use of drones, illustrates the variety of drone uses in the public sector and highlights FAA’s emphasis on safety. This program has been presented to colleges, civic organizations, senior living centers, art associations, libraries, camera clubs and houses of worship.

About the Speaker: Joe Turner is a certified FAA 107 drone pilot and professional photographer.  His clients include architects, construction companies and realtors, who value the unique aerial perspective of drone images. He teaches aerial photography and FAA 107 drone certification courses to first responders at Roger Williams University, RI and Lasell University, MA. He is a skilled commercial photographer, and has been working in photography for 40 years. He published, From the Treetops: a photobook and aerial perspective of historic buildings in Stoneham, MA, and is a frequent contributor to the Stoneham Independent newspaper.
