Services

Homebound Delivery for Seniors

The Stoneham Public Library started a book delivery service with the Stoneham Senior Center!  Deliveries will happen on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month!  If you are not able to travel to the Library to pickup your items and are interested, please call 781-438-1324 and ask for Debbie!

Computers

There are nine computer stations and two laptops in Adult Services for patron use. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point, and Microsoft Excel are available.  There are two computers in the Junior Room for research and typing as well.

Interlibrary Loan

If an item is not listed in the NOBLE catalog, ask our staff for an interlibrary loan. For more information contact Maureen Saltzman, Reference Librarian, who will be happy to help you find what you need.

Email Notification

Sign up for Email Notification to alert you when an item that you requested has arrived. This is an excellent option for those who check their email regularly. If you choose to be notified by email, you will not receive a phone call, and no paper notices will be mailed. Stop by the Library to arrange for email notification. It only takes a few minutes.

The Library will also send you emails about upcoming library events! Contact the Junior Room to be added to the Junior Room email list at 781-438-1325 x 2825, and contact May Forkin at 781-438-1324 to be added to the Adult Services email list.

Local Newspapers

Back issues of the Stoneham Independent are available on microfiche from July 1874 to 2003. The library also maintains print copies for one year. Print copies of the Stoneham Sun are available for one year.

Tax Forms

Federal and Mass. State tax forms and publications are available throughout the tax season. The forms can also be downloaded from IRS.gov and Mass.gov

Copiers/Printers/Microfilm

A photo copier is available for public use. The copier is located in the hallway that separates the Reference and Circulation Desks from the Junior Room.

Library printers are attached to all public internet computers and can be found in both the Reference area and the Junior Room.

Costs for use of the photocopier or one of the printers per page is $.10 for black and white and $.50 for color.

A microfilm reader/printer is available. The machine will read both 16 and 35 mm microfilm and can make copies at a cost of $.25/page. For a listing of our current microfilm collection holdings, please check with the Reference Librarian at 781-438-1324, ext 2823.
