The Junior Room offers a variety of weekly, monthly, and special programs for kids from birth – 8th grade. Click the images for program descriptions.
For the remainder of 2020, all programs will be held virtually. We look forward to the day that we can be together again.
Join Miss Rachel Mondays at 9:30 am on Facebook Live for an All Ages Storytime. We’ll sing songs, learn rhymes, and read stories together. Join live or watch later; the videos will be available for a month after posting.
Join Miss Rachel on Tuesdays at 2:30 pm for a chapter book read aloud on Facebook Live. We’ll read a couple of chapters each week and switch up the book every month. Request this month’s book and read along with us!
Join Miss Rachel Wednesdays at 10:30 am on Facebook Live for an All Ages Storytime. We’ll sing songs, learn rhymes, and read stories together. Join live or watch later; the videos will be available for a month after posting.
On Thursdays at 3 pm, grab your legos and log in to GoToMeeting to chat with your friends, try out the weekly prompt, and have some fun! All are welcome. The prompt will also be posted on our facebook and instagram. Need legos? Let Miss Rachel know! Email firstname.lastname@example.org for the link to join or sign up on eventbrite.
Join Miss Rachel for some Friday Fun at noon on Facebook Live. She’ll share some songs, puppets, felt stories, pretty much everything but the kitchen sink (although we wouldn’t be surprised!) The videos will be available to view on our Facebook.
Every month we’ll share a tutorial on Facebook Live for a different craft you can try out at home. The video will be pre-recorded so you can pause and go back if you get lost. Have a craft you’d like to learn? Let us know!
Join Rachel and Nicole once a month on Facebook Live at 11 am. They’ll talk about new books they like, a staff pick or two, and give short blurbs on a bunch of books. Rachel will cover kids and teen books and Nicole will talk about books for adults. The videos will be available to watch on our Facebook.
Join certified Scaredy Cat Miss Rachel and Mr. Taber, Stoneham Middle librarian, to read and talk about books in the spooky section of the stacks. This is a book club for 5th-8th grade. December’s title is “City of Ghosts” by Victoria Schwab and you can download it on hoopla. We’ll meet on Google Meet on Wednesday, December 16th at 6 pm. Email email@example.com for the link to join!
