Saturday Movie Matinee: Mean Girls (2024)

Come to our Movie Matinee on Saturday, May 25th at 11 AM in the Marcy Room. We will be showing the 2024 movie Mean Girls, directed by Samantha Jayne. “New student Cady Heron navigates the thorny jungles of teenage and high school drama. Led by Regina George, the elite clique The Plastics welcomes Cady into their exclusive group. When she falls for Regina’s ex, Aaron Samuels, Cady risks her social status and faces Regina’s wrath. With the help of her socially shunned friends Janis and Damian, Cady must survive high school, the most dangerous mission of her life. The film is a remake of the 2004 comedy of the same name.”

Film Club: The Big Parade

The film club selection for May is The Big Parade (1925). 

Wealthy young idler Jim Apperson (John Gilbert) enlists during the early days of World War I, to the worry of his mother (Claire McDowell) and the pride of his father (Hobart Bosworth). Sent to the front lines in the French countryside, Jim bonds with his working-class bunkmates Slim (Karl Dane) and Bull (Tom O’Brien) and falls in love with young French farm girl Melisande (Renée Adorée), despite having a girlfriend (Claire Adams) back home. But the romance of war is soon shattered for good.

The Library will screen Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore on Friday, May 17th at 1pm in the Marcy Room.
